Croydonites

Croydonites is a festival of theatre and performance based in Croydon, dedicated to showcasing local theatre makers alongside some of the most exciting contemporary performance work from across the UK. Founded in 2015, the festival has grown into one of the borough's most vital cultural platforms, commissioning local artists, nurturing emerging writers and bringing bold, ambitious work to Croydon audiences.

I've had the privilege of documenting the festival across three editions. The 2023 programme was the festival's most ambitious to date, coinciding with Croydon's year as London Borough of Culture. In 2024, the festival expanded further with four weeks of performance and the inaugural Croydonites Fringe, featuring 23 artists across town centre venues.
