A Place for Us

Four years of Their Majesties at The Oval Tavern. Drag, cabaret and something else underneath: a queer family forming in real time in a small pub in Croydon. Not every moment made it into the frame. Some photographs were never taken. A moment that belongs only to the people inside it does not need a lens.

What remains is what survived that test: joy, resistance, love, chaos. And the rare feeling of a space where nothing needed to be hidden.

A limited-edition zine of 30 copies was made to accompany this project, with original Instax prints on the cover.
